Talk about BLUNT reporting - tonight as we're watching the news here, a report comes on about a few people on a motobike heading the wrong way down a freeway (yup, i've seen it happening every time i've got out)...
SO, a truck slams into them (we're talking a Semi here, not some u-haul mover) and pretty much kills everyone. The only survivor is taken to hospital, where they'll have to remove his arm and he'll be blind in one eye.
Thing is, the cameras rolled.. and showed it all - dead bodies on the freeway, the bike in all its ripped-apart glory, the guy in surgery, blood all over the place.
But still.. even with such hard-hitting images, when we go out to the farmer's market tomorrow there'll be dumbasses on motorbikes going the wrong way down the freeway.
An interesting side-note: EVERYONE who was given a motorbike license from the first 2 years they were issuing such things over here (i think it started about 10 years ago?) has been killed. And only a couple remain from round 3...
